I love having bamboo in and around the house. It gives me a sense of piece and tranquility, perhaps more so than any other plant I can think of. For this reason I created a bamboo wall stencil set that could be creatively painted floor to ceiling and wall to wall.
This stencil is made up of 19 separate bamboo components, 7 leaves and 12 stalk sections. I wanted to allow the maximum artistic freedom in laying out the mural no matter how big or small the room may be. Another possible use for this stencil would be stenciling a bamboo design onto curtains.
This is not a repeat pattern so there are no registration marks to worry about.
As you can see from the picture, you can achieve an illusion of depth by painting the background bamboo in a slightly darker tint of your wall color and progressively moving towards darker shades as you paint the stems and leaves in the foreground. Alternatively the whole mural could be painted in a slightly darker shade of your wall color to give the impression of a shadow being cast by gentle sunlight through a window. Either way this stencil can add a soft ambiance to any room or hallway.

This bamboo stencil design feels so real and peaceful. I think I’d put it in a room where I want to feel relaxed.
Brilliant! Having just completed a medium size job for a friend of mine in her new clinic, I can understand the time and effort you put into your beautiful work. What great fun bamboo is to stencil and what a complete pain in the bum too! Lovely work, congratulations, well done!
